Everybody has their opinion on college football’s transfer portal. You have the people that love it and the people who hate it. I am in the middle. There are some benefits, but there also are many issues with the portal. NCAA has edited this year by closing one portal window. Now the transfer portal is open from Jan 2nd to the 16th. I would still like them to change it to after the CFP is done. The national championship is played on January 19th.
One thing about it is that it gives athletes that aren’t playing a chance to find a new home and play. It means if you are a bad team one year, the next year you can be a great team. The last thing is, it can bring excitement to the offseason.
Now for the things that are not good about it. There is no school loyalty anymore in college football. Players leave just for money or anything else, which makes it feel like the NFL. Coaches are forced to play kids early, so they don’t go into the portal. .The reason you go to school is to learn. College should not be different. You learn and try to get a degree. College football is a business now, but it’s called college football. You should go to school to learn.
