The Brewers start the season Thursday at Chicago. Their home opener is on April 14th against the Cardinals. This spring training, the Brewers have been a Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde type of team. One game they look great, and the next, they give up eight runs. The additions of Hunter Renfroe and Andrew McCutchen are great, because it gives us options on how we use Yelich. Now that the Designated hitter is universal in both leagues, McCutchen could play in the outfield and can use Yelich as our DH.
Milwaukee’s pitching staff should still be a top ten staff. We need to hit a lot better this year and with the additions, I think we will. The NL Central is a two team race between Milwaukee and St. Louis, which we should win. David Stearns has put together a more complete team this year than last years team. Milwaukee still has the best manager in the majors. He has been in the running to win the award for the last few seasons.
At the end of this season, I think the Brewers are going to be division champions and make it at least to the NLDS.
