Sunday night Wisconsin lost to USC. They came in on a five game winning streak. The Badgers started slow and chipped away, but went into halftime with a two point lead 41-39. At the start of the second half, Wisconsin grew the lead to twelve points. The Badgers got in love with the three point shot, except they could not hit the broad side of a barn. Wisconsin’s twelve point lead kept shrinking. USC made their twos and went to the foul line, where they did not miss. I felt like I was watching the Titanic sinking. The Referees blew their whistles more times, then minutes in the game. It was a game Wisconsin should’ve won, but between the miss threes and mismanagement of the clock Wisconsin lost. The Badgers have two more games in January, then the Gauntlet starts.
Their February schedule is rough. They face the top teams in the Big Ten. If the Badgers can win half of those games, it will be good. They play Purdue, Indiana, Illinois, Oregon, and Ohio State on the road. The Badgers play Michigan State, Iowa, Washington, and Maryland at home. It will be a good test before March madness.
