WISCONSIN FOOTBALL STARTS SATURDAY

Saturday September 3rd, Wisconsin plays Illinois State. This will be the start of Graham Mertz’s third year starting. It’s Braelon Allen’s second year, which should be a great year. I am very excited about Wisconsin’s running game with Bob Bostad as the o-line coach. He arguably is the best o-line coach they have ever had at Wisconsin. Bob has put in many players in the NFL and a lot of first round picks. The Badgers have a new offensive coordinator in Bobby Engram. Bobby coached the tight ends for the Baltimore Ravens last year and the wide receivers, before that, for the Ravens.

Jim Leonard should have a great defense again this year. He has been able to replace star players with other players every year. This could be his last year at Wisconsin, so hopefully our defense can be number one again in 2022. I hope our game against Illinois State is a blow out. Graham Mertz needs to show he has improved under the new coaching. Braelon Allen hopefully backs up his great freshman year with a better sophomore year. The biggest question I want to see answered Saturday is at the wide receiver position. Wisconsin needs more out of that position, this year, to make the playoffs. The Badgers have always historically had one main receiver. If the Badgers want to take the next step as Big Ten champs, they need more than one good receiver.

When Wisconsin is able to get multiple good wide receivers, we could make the playoffs. They also have to get better play, out of the quarterback position. We can’t count on a game manager to get us to the promise land. The quarterback has to be a big time player, so our running game can be the best possible version ever.

ON Wisconsin!
