WISCONSIN BEAT NORTHWESTERN

On Saturday Wisconsin beat Northwestern. It was Jim Leonards first game as head coach. The offense looked a lot better and more creative. Paul Chryst’s offense was run on first and second down, then throw on third. Wisconsin has had that type of offense for almost thirty years. Coach Engram was on the sidelines for the first time this year, which helped Mertz play one of his best games. They ran some jet sweeps and some wildcat plays too. Braelon Allen even threw a touchdown pass. The last Badger to do that was James White in the 2011 BIG TEN championship game.

The Badger defense played its best game this year. Northwestern is not the best team in the BIG TEN, but Wisconsin’s defense allowed only seven points. It was nice to see Engram with no play restrictions. If they would have played like this from the start, they would be undefeated now. Graham Mertz looked like the five star he came in as, to Wisconsin. Our wide receivers played really well too. If we play like this the rest of the season, we could end up in Indy again.

Wisconsin’s next game is at Michigan State on Saturday.
