It seems like everyday there is another student Athlete entering the transfer portal to play at another school. Since the end of the 2021 NCAA basketball tournament, four Wisconsin Badgers entered the transfer portal. Wisconsin has gotten two basketball transfers themselves. The Badgers’ football team has lost probably five to ten players in the last couple years. A couple of them never played a snap for Wisconsin. One Football player left this year after playing for a year at Wisconsin and entered into the transfer portal and signed with the University of South Dakota. I saw last week, that he decommitted from there and signed with Texas Tech University. The only reason I think somebody would do that is if the student athlete thought they had a better chance to make it into the Professionals. To me that sounds and looks like free agency. It used to be you went to college to get an education and degree, but these days it seems like education and a degree are not as important as making it to the pros. You still have a lot of students that stay at the university they committed to back in high school and get their degree. I will finish this post with this thought, I believe every student athlete should do what is best for him/her, but I hope college sports stay college sports and not turn into a business.
