To Build A Wall Or Not Build A Wall

After game three Chris Paul said “we need to build a better wall against Giannis, if we want to win”. In the playoffs you have seen teams build a “Giannis” wall with success. You also have teams that try to build a “Giannis” wall and fail. This year Giannis is not getting as many charges as in the past. Some people say it’s because of experience and others say he has better talent around him. The Suns are up two games to one in the finals, with game four tonight. All the sport shows have said the way to beat Milwaukee is by building a wall and making them shoot threes. I don’t agree with them.

The key to the Bucks winning is that Kris Middleton and Jrue Holiday have to make shots and be aggressive to the hoop. Giannis has improved his passing this year because he has faith in the talent around him, e.i. Jrue Holiday. Holiday has been ten times better than Eric Bledsoe. When Kris and Jrue are aggressive, it makes the other team have to close in on them and leaves Giannis open. Brook Lopez gets better looks also when they are aggressive, but this doesn’t guarantee us a win.

Milwaukee still has to play great defense. If Middleton and Holiday, plus the supporting cast, make shots, making a wall is pointless. The question was, to build a wall or not, and I think not.
