After watching two preseason Packer games, the defense has looked silly. Green Bay got rid of Mike Pettine after they lost in the NFC championship to Tampa Bay. They then hired Joe Barry, the linebackers coach, from the L.A.Rams. He has been a defensive coordinator twice before at Washington and Detroit. He did an ok job in Washington. Joe then went to Detroit and they finished 0-16. He got fired then he went to L.A as a linebackers coach and did a good job they say. Now he is our defensive coordinator. So far the defense has missed tackles, dropped interceptions, and flat out have not looked too sharp. Green Bay has not played their starters, so we don’t know if the scheme will work with the starters. This does show that our depth is just ok, there is one more preseason game left, so who knows, they could improve.
If the Packers don’t clean it up and get better, we could have the same result. A top five offense and lack luster defense, which will get us to the NFC championship game. Where we will come up short and Rodgers last year will be wasted.
