Badgers Took Down Army

On Saturday night Wisconsin took down Army. The offense looked good in the first half. The running game looked solid behind Chez Mulusi and Braelon Allen. Braelon, the freshman running back, broke some nice runs including a touchdown run. Chez also had some nice runs. Our defense really stepped up big in the first half. Army had less than 60 yards rushing. Army runs a unique offense which can be hard to stop, but we did. The second half started and it was a different game.

Army got the ball first in the second half. Their first drive took a long time because of all the run plays. Our defense was on the field a lot in the second, which made them tired. Wisconsin’s offense was mediocre at best in the second half. They got away from throwing to Ferguson which gave Army’s defense an easier time to stop us.

The Badgers gave up too many long runs to the quarterback. They started to score against Wisconsin’s top run defense. The game got closer than it should have been. At the end of the game, the badgers did cause a fumble which led to Mertz’s second rushing touchdown to close it out. Overall, it was a pretty good game, but I wish we would’ve moved the ball better in the second half. Wisconsin goes to Purdue next week, who just beat the number two Iowa.

This will be a good test for UW before going home to face Iowa. If we beat Purdue, it should give us confidence which will hopefully leads us to beat the Hawkeyes. It also would mean Wisconsin would be in the driver seat of the Big Ten West and make all the fans and Alumni very happy. Let’s see what happens this Saturday.

On Wisconsin!!
