After beating Washington on Sunday, Green Bay is 6-1 going into Thursday night football, against the Cardinals. Brian Gutenkust has been signing defensive help now for the last four weeks. Aaron Rodgers must be liking that, because this is the first time since 2010 Green Bay has done it. Everybody knows how that season ended, with a Lombardi trophy. The Packers defense looked really great Sunday, with multiple redzone stops and a couple from inside the ten yard line, plus a blocked field goal. Rodgers and the offense looked like usual, the offense had a good passing game and a decent running game, to keep balance. If the Packers can keep up the defense, I think they will be good, with the additions they made, plus Kevin King out of the line up. If the offense keeps performing I see a Lombardi trophy in February.
Aaron Rodgers said this team has the same feeling as the 2010 team. I have to agree with him. We might not have a Charles Woodson on the team, but our secondary is awesome. The Packers have defensive line depth like the 2010 team had. Our linebackers can cover and get to the quarterback, which we had that year. Joe Barry’s defensive calls remind me a lot of Dom Capers calls. They both call an aggressive game, which I like to see.
In my opinion, we are in a very good spot after six games.
