There are multiple reports that Caleb Williams is interested in transferring to Wisconsin. Caleb played for Oklahoma last year. He started seven games for them in 2021. The question Badger fans are wondering is what if we had Caleb Williams? Wisconsin has Graham Mertz right now but that is all. Wolf, who is Mertz’s back up, is terrible. The Badgers haven’t had a solid NFL quarterback, since Russell Wilson. Russell is one of the reasons Caleb is thinking about coming to Madison.
This would be the biggest signing in Wisconsin’s history. He would make Wisconsin an immediate playoff contender. Williams threw for over 1900 yards, with 21 touchdowns, plus over 400 rushing yards, and 6 touchdowns. Ohio State would even worry about playing us. Caleb went to high school with Dean Engram. Dean’s father, Bobby Engram, is supposed to be Wisconsin’s next O.C. He is the other big reason Williams would come to UW.
Badger fans on Twitter are all excited about the possibility of Williams coming to Wisconsin. UW hasn’t been in the discussion for a high recruit ever before. The highest recruit, at quarterback, Wisconsin has gotten is Graham Mertz.
Mertz was the 65th best prospect coming out of high school in 24/7 sports rankings. Caleb was the 7th best prospect coming out of high school in 24/7 sports rankings. Williams would be a great addition to Braelon Allen, which should give Wisconsin a balanced offense. Wisconsin hasn’t had a true balanced offense for the last few years.
I know a lot of Badger fans are excited about Caleb Williams coming, but let’s calm down until it’s official. It’s just nice to be in the discussion. I don’t know if he will come or not. I am praying he does because I want a top quarterback at Wisconsin.
