LUKE FICKELL’S 1ST SIGNING DAY

December 21st was the early national signing day for college football. Wisconsin signed fourteen players from all over. The class size might be small, but it’s very talented. Coach Fickell was able to get three four star players. He also got a three star quarterback, who is one of the most underrated recruits in the country. This signing class is very defense heavy. I could see most them playing next year and contributing. The defensive backs that they signed are all big and athletic. Luke Fickell runs a 3-3-5, which means you have five defensive backs on the field. It’s very important you have good quality players to run that defense, since you have to be able to cover sideline to sideline.

The Badgers only got one in state player, Nate White, but he is the number one player in the state. The other players were from Illinois, Colorado, Florida, Connecticut, Arizona, and Nevada. When Luke Fickell got the Job he said ” We are going to lock down a 350 mile radius in recruiting”. He found out that Wisconsin has a bigger reach in recruiting. In his press conference, he told reporters that he thinks he is light on Defensive and offensive lines in this class. The next signing day is in February, so we should expect to get a few more players. People don’t think coach Fick is done with the transfer portal either.
