The Brewers started 7-3 after the All-Star break. They are playing like the teams from the 90’s. The only thing, that is different, is we have good pitching. Even with the good pitching performances, we can’t hit in some games. When we do hit our pitching is not always reliable. I thought two months ago the Brewers were going to win the central division. Now in August, we are out of the wild card spots. If they don’t pick up their play, we won’t make the playoffs.
This Team has too much talent to not make the playoffs. They should be able to make it still, if they get back to how they played a couple months ago. I still think Craig Counsell is a good manager. Now that it’s almost September every game means a little more. The Brewers are on verge of doing something, that has never been done in Brewers history. If Milwaukee makes it to the postseason this year, it would be their fourth straight year. It’s quite a feat to do, since their market size and payroll. The Brewers have always been behind other teams due to their size and financial situation.
Even with those challenges, David Stearns has put a winner together. I am confidant they can make the playoffs with more consistency throughout the team and a little help from other teams like the Padres.
