After 76 games and with the Brewers offensive troubles. The question is should the Brewers sign Ryan Braun for the second half of the season?. Milwaukee is tied for first right now with those damn Cubs. Their pitching this year has been great, a lot better than the offensive output. One example is Jackie Bradley Jr. His offense has been terrible hitting in the 150’s but, his defense has been great. Keston Hiura has a 127 average and has been between triple A and the MLB team three times already. Even Christian Yelich is only hitting a 260 average so that is why I am asking this question.
I think to stay in first place, the Brewers would be smart to sign Braun. Ryan can take some pressure off of Yelich and the others struggling. He has a 296 batting average lifetime. If he could hit even a 285 or better it would help the rest of the team improve their batting averages. Yelich and others would get better pitches to hit because of the threat of Braun’s Bat. I don’t think those Damn Cubs can keep this pace up and the Reds will fizzle out by the end of the season. The St Louis Cardinals will be the threat to the Brewers winning the central but, if the Brewers can improve their offense, they should be fine. In conclusion I would sign Ryan Braun for the second half of the season unless Stearns and Counsell are confidant the offense will improve.
