Wisconsin Beat Eastern Michigan

Saturday night the Badgers beat Eastern Michigan 34-7. Wisconsin had four running backs score a touchdown. The Badgers looked better on offense than they did in their first game. Chez Mellusi started the game as the lead back and gained 146 yards and a TD. Jalen Berger who did not play against Penn State got 63 yards and a TD. Isaac Guerendo had 92 yards with 82 of those on one run for a TD. All of those numbers happen mostly in the first half. In the second half, Paul Chryst mostly ran Brady Schipper and freshman Braelon Allen. Braelon Allen scored one touchdown in the closing minutes of the game. Graham Mertz looked better. He didn’t make any really bad plays but on the other hand Chase Wolf, the backup QB, threw an interception. The interception was brought back for a touchdown, the only points we allowed all night.

Wisconsin’s defense shut out Eastern Michigan and got one interception themselves. Overall the Badgers looked good, but there is still a lot to get better at, before we play Norte Dame. Wisconsin has their bye week next week so we have plenty of time to workout the kinks. It’s just the beginning of the season so I am not too worried especially with our elite defense.
